Materials science is constantly evolving due to the needs of society. Increasingly, technological applications demand more efficient and environmentally friendly materials, in both their synthesis and performance. The aim of this symposium is to offer a forum for shearing knowledge on the synthesis of new or existing materials obtained by new routes of production and/or combination of different well-known techniques. Additionally, their characterization and performance in different applications are welcome. The following subjects are covered by the symposium:

  • Soft chemistry: sol-gel, hydrothermal synthesis, etc.
  • Sonochemistry and microwave synthesis.
  • Nanomaterials.
  • Optoelectronic materials.
  • Modeling of structure and properties.
  • Bioinspired materials.
  • Catalytic materials.
  • Photocatalytic materials.
  • Chemistry of precursors.
  • Doped materials.
  • Environmental aspects.
  • Materials for electronic applications.
  • Miscellaneous new materials.
