The purpose of the symposium is to increase the knowledge of development, performance and improved of biomaterial topics including but not restricted to tissue engineering, biosensors, molecular bioengineering, surface analysis, surface modification, and drug delivery. The format includes an invited talk speaker, whom presents cutting-edge research in the area, oral presentations, and poster session.

The symposium is directed to biomaterial scientists, biomedical researchers, and other interested in biomaterials area.

One of the goals in the symposium is to promote student participation in biomaterials research at all levels.
