SMCTSM 2011 Awards
Francisco MejÃa Lira Award
This award is given to a regular member of the Mexican Society of Science and Technology of Surfaces and Materials in recognition of their high level scientific trajectory in the area of surface science or materials research.
- The candidate should be proposed by a regular member of the SMCTSM.
- The candidates should submit documentation to the Board of Directors of the SMCTSM in which they clearly and concisely describe their expertise in one, or more, of the areas of interest to the Society, they should also include the appropriate information regarding the formation of students. The document should be in English or Spanish, be less than 10 pages long with 1.5 line spacing.
- A complete Curriculum Vitae (including information concerning the place of work or study of the candidate) and copies of the receipts for 2010 and 2011 SMCTSM membership payments should be provided.
- All of the documents should be sent to the Committee member “Vocal de Publicaciones†of the SMCTSM by e-mail or in a CD containing the information in separate PDF files.
The Award consists of a Diploma and $20,000.00 pesos.
The deadline for receiving documentation is the 31st August.
Awards for the best Masters or Ph. D. thesis. (Sponsored by Intercovamex)
- Participation is restricted to those student members of the SMCTSM who graduated between the 1st Jan. 2010 and the 30th July 2011.
- The candidates should submit a letter to the Board of Directors of the SMCTSM requesting their participation in this contest. This letter should include a brief description of the research reported in their thesis and must have the signed approval of the student’s tutor. The document should be in English or Spanish, be less than 5 pages long with 1.5 line spacing.
- All of the documentation (thesis, letter of application, copies of any publications or expert opinions and a copy of the receipt of the 2011 membership payment, of the student and his tutor) should be sent to the Committee member (Vocal de Publicaciones) of the SMCTSM by e-mail, or in a CD, in the form of separate PDF files.
The Awards consist of a Diploma and $7,000.00 pesos (Masters) and $14,000 pesos (Ph. D.).
The deadline for the receipt of the applications is the 31st Aug. 2011.
